Chocolate-Caramel Shortbread Bars



These bars are hard to resist because they have layers of buttery shortbread, gooey caramel, and rich chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 14 oz caramel candies
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350F 175C and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish

In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy

Gradually add flour and mix until well combined

Press mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel candies and heavy cream

Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted

Pour melted caramel over the baked shortbread layer, spreading it evenly

In another microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth

Spread melted chocolate over the caramel layer

Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares

Almond Joy Trifle Parfait



Enjoy the rich and satisfying flavors of an Almond Joy Trifle Parfait, which is made up of chocolate pudding, toasted coconut, sliced almonds, and mini chocolate chips, with chocolate fudge sauce and whipped cream on top.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup shredded coconut, toasted
  • 1 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1 cup chocolate fudge sauce
  • 1 cup coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chopped almonds

Instructions:

Follow the directions on the package for making chocolate pudding in a bowl using cold milk

Put a spoonful of chocolate pudding on the bottom of each parfait glass

Arrange toasted coconut flakes, almond slices, and mini chocolate chips on top

Add some whipped cream on top and chocolate fudge sauce all over the layer

Put more layers on top of each other until the glasses are full, ending with a layer of whipped cream

For decoration, add coconut flakes and chopped almonds on top

Put the parfaits in the fridge for at least two hours before you serve them so that the flavors can mix
